How to Start Earning as a Contractor on TaskForce
By TaskForce · · 2 min read
Registration, document verification, winning your first job and getting paid: the complete contractor walkthrough.
If you have a trade or a skill, TaskForce puts you in front of customers who are actively looking for it. You browse real jobs, send offers on the ones you want and get paid for the work you finish. Here is how to get started.
Step 1: Register
Contractor signup has four steps. You provide your personal details, your category and the services you offer, your qualifications and the documents we need to verify you. After you submit, we send a 6-digit code to your email to confirm it is yours.
Step 2: Get verified
Customers choose contractors they can trust, so every contractor is reviewed by our team before they can bid. You will be asked to upload:
- Your NIC, front and back (old 9-digit-plus-letter or new 12-digit format).
- A recent electricity bill as proof of address.
- A police report.
- Bank details so we can pay your earnings.
Our team reviews each document. If one is unclear we will ask you to resubmit it. Your account starts as Pending and becomes Approved once review is complete, and you will get an email either way.
Step 3: Find jobs and send offers
Once approved, browse the Marketplace for open jobs in your services. Read the brief and look at the budget, the location and the deadline. Then send an offer with your price and a short pitch explaining why you are the right person.
- You can take the client's posted budget as it is with one tap, or name your own price.
- Each contractor can make up to two offer actions per job, so make your first one count.
- If the client asks for a revised price, you can resubmit once.
Step 4: Do the work and mark it done
When a client accepts your offer and pays, the job is assigned to you and you can chat with them directly in the platform. Agree the details in writing there. When the work is finished, mark the job done. The client then has 48 hours to confirm or raise a concern; if they do nothing, the job completes automatically.
Step 5: Get paid
TaskForce charges a service fee on jobs you complete, and the applicable fee is clearly shown before you confirm a bid. See our Terms & Conditions for details. Earnings for completed jobs are collected into a weekly payout batch, and you are emailed when your payout is marked as paid. You can track everything from your contractor dashboard.
How to win more jobs
- Complete your profile with a clear photo and portfolio images.
- Write specific pitches that refer to the client's brief.
- Reply quickly. Clients often accept the first strong offer.
- Only commit to jobs you can finish. Repeated cancellations lead to penalties and review of your account.
- Collect good reviews. Your rating and completed-job count are visible to clients.
